Workshop Options 

Professional Training Workshops offer training for certification at all levels. They provide in-depth movement and mind/body training in the Tai Chi Fundamentals Program.  You are welcome to attend a level One and Two certification level training with no prior experience. Current Schedule

 Instructional materials recommended for participants wishing to pursue certification:

Complete Program Set . It includes all materials in both sets listed below:

Professional Set includes demonstration, instruction and clinical analysis

Personal Practice Set includes demonstration and instruction only.

 

Movement Intensives: are your opportunity to review and refine any TCF Movement Pattern and Form areas of your choice.  It includes small group and individual practice allowing you focus on your areas of personal interest, including ideas for teaching and for giving students constructive feedback. These courses are beneficial to those working toward TCF certification as well as those interested in refining movements and form sequences.             

Prerequisite: Previous experience in Tai Chi Fundamentals current schedule

 

The Basic Course  bridges the allopathic medical model with the mind/body integration components of tai chi. It provides clinical applications and biomechanical analysis of tai chi, and ways to document it as a therapeutic intervention.  Highly recommended for health care practitioners and those interested in pursuing certification Basic TCF Professional Training Workshop

Designed for physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, recreation therapists, activity directors, fitness and tai chi instructors, and massage therapists. Tricia Yu, an innovative and knowledgeable teacher with 30 years experience, is available for presenting on these and other topics. Courses can be planned with Tricia , or in concert with one of her certified colleagues. No previous experience in tai chi is necessary.

Basic Course (One- and Two-Day Options) includes:

  • Introduction to Tai Chi Fundamentals Program:background,rationale precautions,research on health effects of tai chi
 
  • Tai Chi Movement Training: guidelines for practice, clinical overview, biomechanics, applications for therapy and function, how to integrate tai chi as part of individual and group therapy,home exercise and fitness programs, how to document tai chi as a therapeutic treatment intervention
 
  • Mind/Body Principles of Tai Chi, Overview of Mind/Body Research
  • Releaxation Training
